I have recently signed up for a mentor through ACP but haven't connected with my assigned Mentor yet. I am looking for outside help on a good resume template and some feedback on my Microsoft Word Version of my resume. I am satisfied where i have it but have been searching for a free template i can use whithout haveing to pay for it once i spend alot of time creating it. I am kind of torn on how to begin my cover letter and wonder how much employers really look at it. Is it a job breaker if i don't have one? Thanks for your help!

If you still need assistance, I' happy to email you a template, and make comments on the Word document of your own resume. I can also forward my resume so you can see a completed version. Reach me at gbaccetti@hotmail.com

Your resume should speak to what you're good at and what you've accomplished. It should not be a summary of job descriptions you've had. Cover letters are important as they serve as a quick introduction to the reader and should succinctly capture why you're qualified for the position. I'd be happy to review your resume and give you a suggested template if needed. Please feel free to reach out if you'd like. judy@braunleadership.com
Thank you for your service!
Do not bother with a cover letter. Few if any HR reps read them. Instead focus on your resume. I found novoresume.com lets you create interesting looking resumes. Just choose one of the free templates and modify it accordingly. Also i would do away the the goals and objectives line. Just put down your work exp, skills, and achievements that would be applicable to a job you want.
Happy to help with your resume and cover letter if you are still looking for assistance. Thank you for your service.

Aaron please follow the following steps as you and anyone reading this is qualifies for tax credits that will enhance your resume.
How to Improve Your Resume
There is a free service that all Veterans qualify for;
1. Go to : https://www.sparkmyresume.com/257016
2. You will see a place to sign up for free on the upper right
3. Once you log in it will take you thru there process
4. Be sure to complete each step as it will enhance your resume.
5. At the end you will have a certificate to attach to your resume that will let the employer know what tax credit they can receive by hiring you. ( Don’t be surprised if it is actually higher than the veterans credit as there are experiences that may qualify).
6. You will attach the certificate to your resume.
The concept is how can you separate yourself from the hundreds of resumes that they are looking at. This will get a manager’s attention.
Please pass this along to others you know. You can also paste it to your Facebook or LinkedIn accounts. Its time more vets get recognized. Best of luck to you.
Whatever you do create a modern resume. Google image modern resume and see what I'm talking about. They get more visibility. Make sure the content is still top 1% but looks like your moving at the speed of business today.

Hi Aaron! Be happy to review your resume, give feedback. Email it to me: Coach@SuccessSkills.com.
More importantly, what job are you seeking? And how are your networking skills, which are far more important than your resume?

I have four sample cover letters that I can send you for free. They have a common structure for four different applications. You can adapt to meet your situation.
I have a step-by-step process to transform your current resume into a Top 1% resume that often results in a phone call within 24 to 72 hours to set up an interview time.

Hi Aaron,
Happy to review your resume -- please feel free to send it to my personal email, kmtama@gmail.com
I do think the cover letter is important, however, think about it as more of an introductory email to who you are. I developed a template when I was a career adviser in business school. I am happy to share it with you.
Best,
Katie
I can send you my resume and help you with a cover letter. You can email me your resume too to jacinda@cal.berkeley.edu. The cover letter is more important than the resume because it tells the employer more about you, as a person, than a resume of facts.
Hi Aaron,
I am happy to help you. I just updated my resume using a resume coach and I can send it to you, if you like. You can copy the structure I used.
If you would like to send me your resume, I am happy to look at it. My email is myfordmb@ptd.net.
Thank you for your long service.
