Looking for non-profit opportunities in Northern Virginia

Veteran

Martin Galvan-Castillo Midland , VA

I am retiring from the Marines and moving to the Northern Virginia region, I am reaching out to see if anyone has any contacts that administer non-profits. I am looking to connect with someone that can teach me the ins and outs of doing non-profit work. I am available to volunteer and/or work for a non-profit to increase my knowledge and experience. I would like the focus of the non-profits to be veteran issues, poverty, education, human rights and/or animal rights. Any assistance is appreciated.

Washington DC is the headquarters for almost every major non-profit in the country.

Martin,
I am wondering if some of the folks at Walter Reed would know who to connect you to. They certainly maintain a list of non-profits who focus on the needs of veterans. I think I would make a few calls there and see what they suggest.
