Hello Carlos,

I'm a commercial real estate broker and consultant in Connecticut. While I specialize in retail real estate leasing, I've been involved in real estate for many years.

Please feel free to contact me via ACP, or jeremy@theserwercompany.com if there are any more specific questions I can attempt to address.

Thanks, and good luck!

Hi Calos,

Both Morgan Stanley and Paine Webber in NY have REIT Departments. I would get names of
people who head up these departments. Call with your best elevator speech prefacing your military background and just ask for the mentoring, perhaps some shadowing. People have a soft spot for vets and also are really flattered when asked for help.

Another spin would be to call and say you're a Vet and ask for an informational interview, about 30 minutes, that you would like to pick their brains as you hope to enter the field. Have questions ready. When you go, ask for the names of companies who may be hiring in the field and also for people's names. Repeating myself, people are flattered when asked for help.

And don't forget a very nice thank you note.

Good luck,

Hi Carlos,

Please feel free to use the Community Feature at the top of this page to search for advisors with an expertise in Real Estate. A quick search yielded a lot of results. You may also want to look for someone with a financial background, especially in investment banking, as they would likely understand the investment side of REITs and I would suggest working with both advisors for a more complete understanding.

I hope that this helps.

Best Regards,
Josh
