I'm looking for someone preferably in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area.

I've seen presentations by the team at http://founderdating.com/ but haven't tried it. They seem to take a thoughtful approach to helping people make the right connections.

Try the state Veterans office as well as the state employment office they should have a section that handles vets. Also Dice is the standard job search engine for techie jobs posted online.
Another option is through your local Elks chapter. As an Elk myself we have a very active committee addressing and working with a number of vets.
Great idea!

Try reaching out to the Veterans Clubs at the business schools at UNC, Duke, and NC State.

Dwight... foremost, thank you for your service.

I'd check out: DURHAM TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE http://www.durhamtech.edu/

You can also source potential candidates through INDEED, e.g., look through here to see who's hiring for what roles - and leverage the info/insight to create your own solicitation.

You'll have to do the legwork of finding a veteran candidate yourself, as I'm not sure what your criteria is, but I've found the site https://angel.co/recruiting should be helpful for hooking you up with the right people. The site is a place where founders, investors, and employees looking for tech jobs in a startup can post and apply for jobs, etc.
