Hi Jeff,

Thanks for your 17 years of military service. You can use ACP AdvisorNet's community feature to enter your zip code, and filter to find both Advisors and veterans in the Panama City, FL area. You can send Advisors personalized messages and connect for offline discussions and networking opportunities. This is a great way to personalize your experience on ACP AdvisorNet.

Hello Jeff,

There are a lot of resources available to Veterans to aide you in your job search. You should definitely visit your local Career One Stop or Work Force Center and register with them. The LVER (Local Veterans Employment Rep) will be glad to assist you with information regarding career opportunities, resume writing, and interview tips.

I am an Advisor working on bringing information on training and employment opportunities to veterans who may be interested in working for a company in the photonics industry (companies that make or incorporate lasers, fiber optics, optics). Information on technician training and employment is available from www.laser-tec.org, the website of an NSF-funded program. There is one company I know of in Panama City: Fiberoptic Engineering Corp: www.fiberopticengineeringcorp.com. I don't know if they have openings of interest to you, but I recommend you consider getting some additional training in photonics since there are many companies in various parts of Florida and the southeast who have openings for technicians and engineers with knowledge in some aspect of photonics.
