I have worked "inside the gate" in nuclear power for 17 years in a multitude of positions: Non-Licensed Operator, Chemistry Superintendent, Program Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Reactor Operator, Performance Improvement Manager, Maintenance Recovery Consultant and Engineering Manager.
I am now working for a Consulting firm providing augmented staff personnel to power plants in engineering, regulatory assurance, project management, procedure writers, operations instructors, performance improvement and reactor oversight process recovery (regulatory margin).
While I understand a ton about the roles the consultants will be taking at these power plants, I have no idea how to go out and get new organizations to utilize our organization. No idea how to "secure the contract". It is a new feeling, idea, situation and I am not completely comfortable asking for that work.

With your experience, the insurance industry may be an opportunity for you. Industry must have insurance and someone with your knowledge could be an underwriter for that line of business. Contact the major insurance companies or agencies for information on opportunities. You know more that you think regarding risk management in this industry.
