I am leaving the Military to pursue a career in Cyber Security. I am looking for individuals who can advise me on how to prioritize training and certificates. Additionally give me some insight to the culture. Thank you.

Hi Michael. I sent you a message. Looking forward to hearing back from you!
I'm a geographically undesirable cyber security guy who is willing to network with you. The bad news is that I live in North Suburban Chicago. The good news is that I can discuss current issues I'm dealing with on the job. The current background knowledge should help you in interviews by making you comfortable discussing how to identify problems and close holes in stages, doing the quick and easy stuff first. If you're interested, send me an email through this website and we can set up some phone calls. Thank you for your service.
Hi Michael,
Gartner, PWC, EY, Microsoft runs webinar for Cyber Security which you can join and find opportunities for local network.
You can try finding groups with similar interests in www.meetup.com, LinkedIn. Should there not be any group, you may want to take a lead.
Good luck.

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your service and for posting a question to the AdvisorNet Community. I recommend utilizing the "Community" feature where you can actually search for both veterans and Advisors by location and industry and send direct messages. If you have any questions about how to utilize the "Community" tool, please let me know and I am happy to provide you with a virtual tour of AdvisorNet.
Additionally, I encourage you to sign up for a Mentor through ACP's one-on-one Mentoring Program. While we cannot guarantee a Mentor in San Antonio, our team can find a Mentor to provide career guidance, including insight into certifications and corporate culture. You can apply here: http://www.acp-usa.org/mentoring-program/veteran-application
I hope this information is helpful for you. Enjoy your week!
Best,
Lauren
