I recently started an export management company in Southern California and am looking for a personal mentor to help me with the process. I don't specialize in any one product but need a good mentor to help me navigate the industry

Outstanding sir, as export movements in the manufactoring sector is up and Ports in California are leading the charge. Permit me to suggest looking into the NVOCC's in your area. Also consider the Propellar Club of the Port closes to you as means testing the net-working. Try to discover the the Maritime lawyers in your area and keep working your Custom House Broker academics. The US Custome's would be honored to network with a Vet as a large part of them are as well! Best wishes on your start-up sir. Jim White Las Vegas, Nv.
Hi Eric, with right connections most things are possible, Are you Linked-in ? I would be Glad to help
I believe that makes you an Export Trading company not an Export Management company. I could be wrong.
As an Export Management Company I am the middleman. I connect buyers to sellers, but do not take possession of the merchandise
Eric, What angle are you going with when you say you want to help these companies grow? Are you looking to offer third party logistics services where you will warehouse, pick, pack and ship exports for these small/medium size businesses? Are you looking to become a broker and offer brokerage services to these companies?
Unfortunately, I do not import...only export. Looking to help small, medium-sized, and disadvantaged companies grow
@ Eric, do you import? If so, how much would you charge by weight to import merchandise from Central America to Chicago Illinois?
