I tried getting some questions answered by UPS regarding their accounts with small businesses. All they could tell me was to set up an account on line. However, I do not want to set up an account without knowing it's benefits or what it entails? Can anyone advise me as to what to look for with a shipping provider? I will be shipping cutting blocks, they are pretty heavy (up to 19lbs) so I am trying to figure out what the best way to ship them is.
Any suggestions are gratefully appreciated.

Thank you Tim. Sorry for the late reply. I had not checked this site for a while.
Dali,
I have a spreadsheet that I built to do trade off analysis for parcel and small shipment costs between USPS and UPS. It is about a year old so the numbers are a bit dated, if you are good with spreadsheets, it will be easy to update.
For very light shipments the post office may be your best deal, if you have a lot of volume you can get FedEx and UPS to compete for your business. e-mail me at Tim.runa.org and I will send the spreadsheet to you.
Also if you give me some info on number of shipments, weight etc. I can point you to the right tariffs,
Kind Regards,
Tim
