Public sector/local govt internship

Veteran

Kelsey Fleming Melbourne , FL

I plan to pursue corporate finance. I have networked heavily with different firms and although I have not fully committed to a single line of business, I have gravitated most to private wealth management/estate planning or consumer & community banking.

I have recently been offered a Skillbridge internship where there is an option to be embedded with local government. With my background, I believe this path would be a great way to learn the network and needs of the government/local businesses that my community bank or financial firm would serve.

I would be interested in linking up with anyone with a background in public administration (public policy/affairs, planning and operations, municipal budgeting) for discussions on career options and guidance for personalizing my resume/prepping for interviews.

Excited to hear from you all!

Hi Kelsey,

Thanks for your question. I would like to direct you to the Community section here: https://acp-advisornet.org/community/advisors

There are many advisors with backgrounds in Government and Policy that have signed up for private messaging. You might have better luck getting some advice if you reach out directly to a few of the advisors.

I see that you are also in the formal mentorship program. I have reached out to your point of contact, Noah, who will also look through the formal program for mentors you can speak with about this topic.

Thanks and please feel free to send me a private message with any further questions.
