Does anyone know of professional networking events in Las Vegas?

Networking is supposedly the best way to find a job. Anyone know of professional networking events (not job fairs) for professionals in the Las Vegas area?

Have you thought about education? There is always a high need for qualified STEM teachers. Feel free to message me

BLACKHAT, DEFCON, are two I attend yearly, and the smorgasbord of every company and HR group that does their "annual whatever" in Vegas. Would you mind sharing what type of professional group you are interested in.

Adam,
COVID has shut down most face to face networking or even hiring fairs. I would look at Hiring our Heroes, US Chamber of Commerce; Hire Heroes USA; HireMilitary; and LinkedIn hold virtual meetings all the time. I saw one focused on industries coming up with Hiring our Heroes. Hope this helps, thanks for your service and God Bless.

I suggest that you network at a target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your service and question! For networking, I would highly suggest reaching out to multiple Advisors on the community tab feature of ACP AdvisorNet (https://acp-advisornet.org/community/advisors). You can reach out to different Advisors based on experience, location (such as in the Las Vegas area), and industry. It is a great way to network and hear more about different positions.

I included the The Ultimate Guide to an Informational Interview from LiveCareer (https://www.livecareer.com/resources/interviews/prep/informational-interviewing) for more information on these types of interviews.

Best,
Dara
