Hello!
I've been looking to break into the private sector for a while now, but as everyone unfortunately knows there's been hiring freezes going around for a while now. I turned down an interview with Blue Origin several months ago as I didn't want to move then, but have become really interested in the whole Seattle area since. Previously I wasn't looking to relocate again as I wanted to finally set down roots, but with everyone socially isolating now I am very open to moving to Seattle now after looking up more on the area.
Back to my question, but if anyone is familiar with what employers there are looking for, information security job openings, or even just would be willing to share what it's like living there I would really appreciate it! Thank you!

Hi Christopher. I moved to Seattle a little over a year ago and work in tech consulting. Amazon is hiring like crazy, but most of the tech companies have many open roles. Facebook specifically has a program for people who have been out of the workforce for a while (I believe they are labeled with Return to Work in the job titles). I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you have about what it's like living here as a recent transplant - feel free to PM me.
Amazon and Microsoft are two of the larger employers in the Seattle area. I recommend looking into their open positions
