Hey Dorothy,

Here are the steps to guarantee landing a great job in the Charlotte, NC area. (Tom Cal mentioned my first point)

1. Build an awesome Linkedin Profile.

2. Find the companies in the area you want to work for via Google and Linkedin.

3. Follow the companies on Linkedin, and connect over common ground or interest with leaders at the companies.

4. Email or InMail decision makers at the company and ask for advice on how you could help them/ or what they are looking for in a potential candidate.

5. Return with answers, do work, or solve problems for them for free.

6. Then apply for a job.

Give my a shout if you want a more in depth breakdown, or clarification!

Dorothy,

MetLife has a significant presence in Charlotte, and is hiring in the area. Please take a look at the website for open positions.

Thank you for your service.

Hi Dorothy,

You can initially try national job databases for searches like monster.com and careerbuilder or one of my favorites is www.indeed.com. Also like Tom suggested above, create a profile for yourself on Linked In because recruiters also scour there as well.

Are you familiar with NC? If not then definitely do research and visit the area. Best of luck and thank you for your service.

Cheers,

Accursio

Dorothy,
Post a little about your military training and experience. My company has a plant in Charolette and I can look to see if there is anything open that matches your experience.

Hi Dorothy,
There is a gal on Fox Business by the name of Cheryl Cassone http://casone.blogs.foxbusiness.com. Every week she talks about the 3 or 5 companies hiring this week. She mentions NC relatively frequently. You might be interested in checking out her site. Anyway, here is one she recently posted that you might want to look at:

I don't know anything about MetLife as an employer, but this is just one example.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Dorothy,
2 suggestions:
1) create and post a link to a top-notch LinkedIn profile for yourself. (If you need assistance with your LinkedIn profile and resume, feel free to request assistance in another posting. I think you'll find several Advisors willing to help.)

2) In your request for information about Job Opening, include 3 succinct bullet points that highlight what you "bring to the table" for a potential employer. (Again, if you need help wording these 3 bullet points, ask for help.)
