Plenty of companies have opportunities outside of IT :)
As a resource, you can put your MOS and it will give you what civilian jobs would be suitable: https://www.taonline.com/military-skills-translator/
Also, you can search jobs at CBS here: https://cbscorporation.jobs there are tons of risk management & security related jobs.
Hope this helps!
Shalanda,
If you force yourself into IT, it will read like it and sound like it all the way and without passion in what you want to do as a career would not be a wise move. Look into that career of risk management and overall security. The career is big now days in the world we live in-active shooter and other scenarios that companies never had to deal with. Look at doing some Informational Interviews with professionals in the field. Research the Informational Interview first so you know the ground rules, this is not asking for a job, it is seeking help/advice/assistance on a career. Base the questions on that-what made you interested in your current position, if you were to enter the career field again what would you do different, what skills do you use more often... Also search Indeed for open positions, and if 90% you see require a degree, then at least you are getting a degree in something you enjoy. Without passion it is a job, with passion it becomes a career, you want to grow and learn. Thanks for your service. God Bless.
Shalanda: you might take a look at Salesforce's Vetforce Program (https://veterans.force.com/s/). You can complete online training, for free, and receive vouchers to take Salesforce certifications. Salesforce certifications are increasingly sought after and this is a great way to pick up some IT understanding.
Betty Diaz,
Thank You, I will look into these resources
