Thank you James, we already compost and have been selling in by the truck load for years and currently offer a you load you haul. I am looking for a custom bag manufacture for a 3 mil 2.5 cubic foot bag, that we can put our logo on. Thank you for the pricing I have been looking around at local pricing for bags, we are not sure but we suspect a 2.5 cubic foot bag will weigh between 30 and 40 pounds we need to bag some bags to find the right kind.
Hi Kristi -
I Googled “What types of bags are used in selling horse manure” and found a lot of information. Home Depot sells a 40 pound manure bag for $1.89.
I also found an article in “The Chronicle of the Horse”
“I stumbled upon this bagging up manure for family and neighbors to add to their composting piles. My "special technique" has even been published in a green horsekeeping book!
It's really not all that special. As with any composting, the secrets are water and oxygen. I use the super-heavy-duty contractor-grade garbage bags to line a muck bucket, fill to a manageable weight (25-35 lbs for me), punch holes top and bottom, pile behind the barn. If we don't get rain, I water weekly with the hose. I shake each bag vigorously once a week to "turn" the pile. It works fast this way. In a month, the manure in the bag turns to lovely, loamy, ready-to-use compost.
Hope this information is of some help to you. Thanks for your service and good luck in your venture.
