Currently, located in Riverside County California; started this program for the mentorship about 6 months ago had steady contact with my mentor for 2 months then he fell off the face of the earth. ACP program and I sent emails with follow-ups still no response nonetheless, we moved on in search of someone new. Moving forward, we do not know the reasons he dropped, but I've summed up what I learned from the few sessions to help narrow my search and focus on my interests.
I would be looking for someone who is either in a management position in the technology field that perhaps may not have all the answers to highly technical questions. Instead may have the resources or personnel to reference.
or
Someone who does Networking, Network/Security, AppSec, Cloud (AWS, Azure or GCP), RedHat, ESXi framework, Splunk etc. etc. (I am not going to be picky here I have a wide interest, perhaps there is something that isn't listed that you could recommend I am all for that.)
Quickly about me, I go to California State University San Bernardino and I major in Cyber Security. I have my Security + with my next cert going to be ACE then moving on to CCNA, Red Hat System Admin and OSCP. Splunk and VMware certs may get sprinkled in there as well. Competitions were my thing my whole Junior year I did DOD Cyberforce competition than did a local Security competition at Poly Pomona were my team achieved 2nd place. My interests include Red Team Operations like CVE exploits and research on new Zero Day exploits like the most recent published by Sandbox Escaper.
Overall I'd appreciate any time someone is willing to give me whether that is a quick Skype session or meeting up locally for lunch.
Almost forgot I will be at Defcon this year, if you are not local we could meet up there.

Cody, I found out once sadly, that falling off the face of the earth could really mean that. Regardless, 6 months of mentorship seems a lot and why do you still need more? What I don't understand is whether you are looking for a mentor, coach, advisor or perhaps even a patron. Your school should have plenty of those readily available to help you and they can also provide many industry connections where you can not only find future job opportunities or internships and externships before you graduate. You have chosen a really high paying and high demand career-you may want to check out Las Vegas-they host many hi-tech industry conferences and trade shows. Its a great place to pass around your resume and make connections.
Scott,
Thank you for your response, I look forward to hearing from you.
Hope you had a great 4th!

Cody,
Thank you for your service and Happy 4th of July. I am not your guy but I know a person or two who may. I will reach out to both of them. Both are very accomplished in the technology field, one running IT for a multi billion dollar bank and the other in the advertising industry. I will forward them your message and if you hear from either Sergio or Ivan, those are my guys.
Scott
