Self employed in a small lawn service for 20+ years now, single dad, and raised my daughter myself. Now, I have been attending college and recently married overseas. I have a chronological resume that include Naval Aviation Electrician, Grumman Aerospace Electrical Installer, as well as Retail Customer Service, and I was an Inspector for a large commercial airline food service equipment company, etc.

Hi Stephen,
I just saw your note on the ACP website. Sorry for my late reply.
Since I don't have expertise in the areas of your skills and experience I'd recommend that you follow the advice of Phil Marcoux above.
If you're interested in joining a non-profit organization to share your knowledge and skills I'd recommend searching for a cause that you feel passionate about and first volunteering so that you get exposure to the resource needs of a non-profit. Many times a volunteer assignment can lead to full-time employment with the organization or an affiliate. Here's a good site to start your search -

Best of luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

What University are you attending?
I just retired from a role as one of the Advisors to the School of Engineering at U of Florida. I know they have a very active and aggressive program in your study area. In just Silicon Valley alone there are 25 advisors for the UF school and a similar number in Gainesville.
Your school may have a similar set of resources. If not then contact UF or UCF.
Hello Steve!
Good for you!
I've been in International Trade / Global Banking about 20 years (on the corporate side and now banking), happy to answer any questions or make any introduction if it would help.
Good job!
Thank you for your response Krista.
I did as you suggested and found who I think is a good mentor match for me in my area and I am awaiting a response. I also took the time to update my profile.
Thanks again sincerely,
Steve
