I'm getting ready to separate from active duty after eight years of working in Public Affairs, with the last four years focused on international relations. I have my B.S., A.A.S., and three classes away from completing a M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications. I have some experience as a Graphic Designer and Marketing intern prior to my military service. I'm hoping to transition into something solid in the private sector, but it's been eight years since my last time working in the corporate world. I would love to find a mentor with a Marketing, Advertising, or Public Relations background that can help me transition with success. Thanks!

Hi Amber, I don't know if you've already got a mentor but I am currently in the media industry (specifically, ad tech) with the same background in graphic design. I made a career transition from the creative side to account management, then to analytics. I'd be happy to share my experiences in advertising/media/marketing or answer any questions.
Hi Amber. I sent you a message. Looking forward to hearing back from you!
Hi Amber,
Thank you for your service. It sounds like you are well suited to a marketing career. It would be an honor to mentor you. You can locate me on LinkedIn and email me with any questions you have. Please let me know if there is a particular sector you're interested in working in.
Kind regard
Dawn
Hi Amber,
Thank you for your service and for posting a question to the Community. I encourage you to sign up for ACP's one-on-one Mentoring Program here: http://www.acp-usa.org/mentoring-program/veteran-application. Our yearlong program connects service members with professionals from their desired industry in Corporate America.
Once you complete the application, one of our staff members will reach out to you with the next steps. From there, we can begin the search for a Mentor who has experience in the fields of marketing, advertising or public relations.
Additionally, if you are looking for more informal guidance you can use the "Community" tool on AdvisorNet to search for Advisors by both location and industry to find individuals to connect with.
If you have any questions about the Mentoring Program or AdvisorNet in general, please do not hesitate to let me know. Have a great week!
Best,
Lauren
