ACP can find you a Mentor. As to the resume, you can send it to me and I will help with that. tomlinsonjk@aol.com Security is a very sought after position. I will reach out to my colleagues in IT to see what they advise and will let you know.

I have been in the IT industry for for 30+ years and would be willing to help review your resume and introduce you to a number of contacts I have in the Twin Cities area.

www.linkedin.com is good source for professional networking with the ability to connect with people and groups of similar interests.

Meeting as many people as possible is vital at this stage of your career. I highly recommend attending InfraGard meetings (www.infragard.net) if you want to enter security. If you're interested in Grad degrees as well, the MSST program at the UofM (msst.umn.edu) will easily pay itself off after a few years, and give you a glimpse into various fields. Send me a message if you'd like to discuss anything further, and congratulations on your promotion to civilian. :)

Hi August,

I agree with Judy that ACP could help set you up with a great Mentor. ACP has a second program that focuses on one-on-one, yearlong mentorships with corporate professionals in your chosen career field.

We work with more than 60 leading companies and have Mentors available from Hewlett-Packard, IBM, MasterCard, etc. You would be paired up with a Mentor based on your goals and interests. Just like ACP AdvisorNet, this program is completely free.

Here are a few things you can work on with an ACP Mentor:

· Building a network of professionals
· Improving your resume and interview skills
· Translating your military experience into civilian terms
· Learning how to advance at your current job

To learn more, go to http://acp-usa.org/Mentoring_Program
To apply, our application can be found here: https://apply.acp-usa.org/apply/Protege_Application.

Best of luck to you! Feel free to message me with any questions.

Best,
Ali
