Need some pointers on how to properly translate military experience to civilian sector. Looking for a position in the Defense Aerospace Industry or Operations Management. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your executive level resume will speak to the core qualifications of a leader within your target career field. Your core competencies will be less technical. For example:
Leading People
Leading Change
Business Acumen
Revenue Creation
Building Coalitions
Etc.
Thank you for your service. We are here to help!

Also keep it one page. Absolutely no typos! A good cover letter gets the resume read! I would be happy to review if helpful.
Christophe,
Have you considered working with an executive search firm?
If you are clear about your career objectives, they may be very helpful in giving you perspective in local industry as well as feedback on tailoring your resume.
Christophe,
Both Beth and Tim are correct. Speak the company's language. Look at the job posting and use the words the company uses. Your skill sets should be translated into the company's language. Sometimes that means that you will have to customize resumes for different companies- change a word here, alter a phrase there...
I see that you have two offers to help, but I would be happy to help as well.
Beth is right. The key is to "transfer your military lingo and experience into business speak". I can assist on the resume side if you want to send me your resume, tim@feemsters.com
Thank you for your service Christophe. The key is speaking in their language, spelling out why you're a fit for their position and their culture. You also want your personality to show at this level, because employers are more aware of cultural fit than ever before. I would be happy to take a look at your resume and offer any pointers I may have.
