I have been looking for a new career in the Logistics area in Miami. It has been extremely difficult to be receptive by all the organizations that I have applied or provided and interview. After over 20 years of service, I was expecting for the private sector to be more appreciative.

Juan,
Based on your post, I take it that the job market is showing how it treats everyone. One of the issues is that the job market is sluggish everywhere so you are competing with people with as much or even more experience. Depending on the area that you want to relocate, that can even be more difficult. Miami-Dade County is hovering around 7%
Have you applied to entry level positions in the industry and area that you want? Most of the time, our skills do not translate over to the civlian world as easy as you'd think. How's your resume and interview skills? With literally hundreds of thousands of veterans seeking jobs right now, companies can be very selective even with just who they hire in that pool let alone all of the exeperienced non-vets that are seeking jobs. It is tough for everybody.
Just some advice, companies are very supportive of veterans BUT we (veterans) need to shine and illustrate by our actions that we are worthy of the support. Case in point ACP exists because companies value what we bring to the table. Get some resume help and interview mentoring and keep on applying.
Congrats on 24 years by the way.
Kelly
