I would like to start my own business here in New York. Because I have a disability.

Hi Carolyn,
I started my own small business in NYC as well. I'm happy to share my thoughts if I can. I'm just not sure what your question is. Could you clarify? Are you looking for helping setting up your business and the proper legal structure? Your website? What is your business? If you could expand on what you would advice on, I can hopefully help you.
Thanks,
Melissa
What are your interests? Have you decided on an industry yet? I have my own small biz and it does take time to get and keep going. You have to be committed.
Key things: capital, great product, business plan, resources ($, people), etc. Have you identified target customers, location (from home or store front)? Lots to think about, how much have you put down on paper? I am willing to share my experience if you are interested. Take care and thank you for your service! Cheryl
I have started a number of my own business, all did well because I kept them simple, defined and targeted. I also kept my costs low and avoided debt...that destroys many young companies. Pick something you know, enjoy and not what everyone else is chasing.
My best moves were to contact people who started their own business, ask to meet with them or out for coffee...trust me those who succeeded love telling you all about it.
Carolyn,
I am willing to help as well.
Take Care,
Ian
