I have served in the US Air Force for 13 years and I am leveraging my experience in human resources to pursue employment in the aerospace and defense industry. I am pursing my Masters in Human Resources Management and PHR certification. I would greatly appreciate advice, mentorship, and network connections which will enhance my employment opportunities into this industry sector.

Hi Brandon,
I can't say I know much about aerospace and defense industry, but I do have just over 10 years of experience in HR, recently graduated with my Master's in Human Resources & Employment Relations, and I, too, am studying for the PHR. I you'd like to bounce any questions off of me, or just go through PHR studying with another HR person, let me know!

You could join an association for Human Resource professionals. Then network that way. I also know that the AIAA, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics are heavily involved in aerospace, so I recommend you join that association.
Thank you for your response Ali. I have started the mentorship program that you mentioned, so I hope to get some pointers there. I will check out the contacts you posted as well. Thank you!
Hi Brandon,
Have you searched through ACP AdvisorNet's Community? To look for Advisors with specific experience, go to https://acp-advisornet.org/community. You can then sort by industry to see Advisors in the fields that interest you. I did a quick search and found a few Human Resources Advisors who work at Boeing. You could private message them and ask for advice:

You could also consider signing up for ACP's yearlong mentorship program for veterans. We handpick professional mentors for each transitioning veteran who applies to the program to work on topics such as resume writing, networking, sorting through education options, etc. The program is completely free and comes with the support of an ACP staff member to guide you through the progress.

Best of luck!
Ali
