Product insurance

Veteran

Dali Rivera Abingdon , MD

I was suggested to look into insurance to cover myself when selling my cutting boards and cutting blocks. I think it's supposed to be to protect myself from getting sued or blamed for something caused by my product. However, I have no idea how to find a sales person that sales this type of insurance. I don't even know what the name of this insurance is.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

First off I am not providing you legal advice - not qualified. That said, there is general liability insurance. What is the legal structure of your small business as this may afford you some personal assets / income protection unless there is gross negligance involved. The practical aspect of this circumstance is that given your product, I can't fathom the risk. You should be able to call USAA and they will likely refer you.
