Hello,
I just completed a draft of my resume. My Fed Gov't resume is four pages (format is different) and I've had to condense it greatly (I have two pages right now). I have it generalized because I'm still job hunting and once I find a company that I'm interested in, I will adjust the resume accordingly.
If anyone has any free time, I would like to e-mail my draft to you to review.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Pamela

Try your best to get it down to one page. What great or unusual things have you done?, accomplished?, how much have you saved? How did you re-organize something?
Leave out "I'm a great person, I work well with others etc. etc. Target and specifically shape your resume to specific industries or companies. Generalized resumes do not work. What sets you clearly apart from the rest of the hoard? Good luck.
Hello Pamela. Thank you so much for your dedication and service to our country.
When working on your resume, you want to focus on your accomplishments and make yourself stand out to potential employers. Make sure that you do not just provide a list responsibilities. That says nothing about how well you performed them. Include any kind of statistics that make sense. For example, number of people you may have commanded or supervised, cost savings, time savings, improvement of processes, projects completed, etc. I know it's difficult to "toot your own horn" but you really have to in a resume. Numbers speak volumes, so please make sure that you are quantifying your value well.
I'll be happy to review your draft for you. Please send to lisa.a.peterson@verizon.com
Best of luck,

Good morning,
I want to thank you all for your advice and assistance. It's been truly helpful. You all have a wonderful day. :)
Pamela, thank you for your service. I will be happy to review your resume if you will send a copy to billnobles@optonline.net. I'm curious whether it includes a specific type job or career that you seek? If not you should consider self-assessing your strengths and interests to help decide. My prior posting: https://acp-advisornet.org/question/725/what-are-best-tools-for-veterans-to-self-assess-their-aptitude-capabilities-and-interestss , provides tools fellow veterans have used.
Best wishes, Bill Nobles
