Hi Ameya,
It's always hard to know where to get started again. I suggest you list the things you want to do in IT and search for those jobs in the online sites like Indeed.com, to validate that you would like to do what the job descriptions state. The search may broaden your perspective and you may find things you never thought about, thereby broadening your job search. This can also hone the jobs you'd like and don't like, refine your resume to highlight your experiences accordingly, and know and present yourself more succinctly.
You just finished a contract, did that company have any other IT contracts?
I would leverage your professional network. Have you looked through LinkedIn, I've seen several recruiters publicizing available positions.
Hi Ameya!
I would also recommend reaching out to different contractor/hiring companies. They can review your experience, help build your resume, and find opportunities for you. When I separated, I went to work for a company that specialized in helping military members find careers. There are still some companies out there that specialize in helping military members. These companies recognize the soft skills taught by the military as well as being able to act as a liaison during the process. A few companies/sites that I would recommend would be Bradley Morris (bradley-morris.com) and militaryhire.com. I would also research the companies listed in this article as they are veteran friendly companies: https://militarybenefits.info/veteran-jobs-with-military-friendly-employers/
Best of luck to you!

Hi Ameya,
Thank you so much for your question! We would suggest scrolling through our "Jobs" tab, where you can search for jobs specifically within your industry and area. You can also take a look at our "Community/Advisors" tab to find advisors in IT that you can message directly for networking and referral opportunities.
Additionally, our "Articles" tab has some great reads on resume writing - this article in particular is a good place to start (https://acp-advisornet.org/articles/614/create-impressive-resume-get-more-job-interviews).
Good luck!
Best,
Michaela
