My current job is a position I've taken in order to pay the bills. My goal is to become an attorney, albeit a bit later in life than most (if I get in within 2 years I'll be 35 upon graduation). I'd like to know what paths I should take to boost my resume during applications to Law Schools, as well as other jobs/opportunities I could pursue in order to obtain legal training prior to law school attendance.

I am not certain I understand your concerns. Do you have a college degree, and if so in what field/major? Take the LSAT. If you do well, seriously consider Law School. If not try again, and if you still do not do well, consider another profession. I went to Law School late in life. What it takes is an almost "religious commitment" to study and work harder than you have anytime in your life.. Are you actually ready for such? If so "mount up" and go for it. The Law offers such a broad spectrum of opportunities for careers that, in my opinion, what you did prior to Law School, has only some minor bearing on getting in, or your success during or after Law School. Your college grades, your LSAT and some recommendations from noteworthy people are, to me, the KEY.
I am on the Board at the University of San Diego, School of Law. Contact me if I can help in some way.
