Would someone be willing to interview me for a crime analyst position or at least give me specific pointers for my interview next week?
Answers
Yes very helpful. It was 3 hours long and included a time constrained practical exercise for which I was not really prepared. Speed was the discriminator between me and my competition.
Hello James,
I would be happy to provide some specific points for your interview next week, so long as they are not necessarily specific to the position you are applying for, as I am not an expert there. As far as cultivating possible industry-specific questions, and then preparing them, I would recommend this article from The Muse:
https://www.themuse.com/advice/the-ultimate-guide-to-researching-a-company-preinterview
To develop more broad interview skills, the Huffington Post has this a great cheat sheet:
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/nikki-stone/interview-tips_b_4394560.html
And to dovetail off of that article's suggestion to watch other interviews, I recommend picking one of these TED Talks that would more visually illustrate how to present yourself:

Let me know if you could use more specific resources, and let us know how the interview goes!
Best,
Andrea
