I find myself doing the same thing I did before when I had no experience in the accounting field 6 years ago. Indeed, Zip Recruiter, LinkedIn but no real hits that produce interviews. I have updated and molded my resume to reflect my knowledge base and more than willing to look into going into Manhattan as well looking in Westchester, Rockland, and Fairfield counties. What can I do to get a wider net to get more calls for interviews, what is my field looking for?

Hi Brice
The other advice you’ve received is spot on.
I would add one thing. Headhunter such as Robert Half.
I use them to get a pulse of the job market in the geographic areas I’m interested in working. You may find there are a lot of opportunities or very few. You can do a similar approach via indeed by searching for job type/salary to see what’s available. But I prefer a headhunter who may have more insights than a job site.
Send me your resume to brock.renshaw@citi.com.
I’ll take a look at it and setup some time to chat to help out the best I can.
All the best

I’d suggest that you network at the target company or industry. Use LinkedIn to find people already working there and reach out to them. Ask them the process they used to get hired and ask them to help you navigate the hiring process and if they are willing, ask them to submit you as a referral. These activities require much more time on your part but in my opinion would greatly increase your chances for success. Good luck!

Download the Monster app. It's so easy to use, not to mention it's 100% free and a highly rated job app.
See something you like? Swipe right. It's that simple. Use it on the bus, in the dentist's waiting room, on line at the supermarket, while you're making your morning coffee—you get the idea. Bonus: Because you'll just look like you're scrolling through your phone, you can discreetly job search while you're at your current job without anybody suspecting it!
