During an application process, I was forwarded to a recruiter. Unfortunately, I was interrupted during my application and attached the cover letter to the email, which was already in the body of the email. I caught it the next day and sent an updated application email with "Please disregard previous email" as the header of the email and attached my resume and in the body of the email, wrote my cover letter. Wondering how dead I am in the process or if anyone in the recruiting field has let this fly and moved forward with the candidate. It obviously demonstrated a lack of attention to detail but wondering if I should follow up or if I'm "dead in the water" due to this mistake. Thanks.

Hi Robert, I think you're fine. You seemed to have quickly realized the mistake, and things like this happen all the time, some application systems can be clunky. I would be more concerned if you had typos or poor grammar on your resume. I wouldn't loose sleep over it, and give the recruiter some time to reply. I recommend a week before following up again.
Good luck!
