Federal or private Sector

Hellow Warren,
When I saw your Atlanta location, I immediately thought of the email I received earlier from AOPA (Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association). For two reasons: Atlanta has a very active aviation industry; and there is now and will be for some time a shortage of various skills in the aviation industry. The AOPA email linked to: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/03/airlines-search-for-young-mechanics-as-retirement-wave-looms.html - "Aviation industry seeks young mechanics."
And, "Delta Air Lines recently dedicated $350,000 in grants for nine aviation schools."
People who keep the planes flying, and people who fly the planes are already & will be in short supply for quite some time. The pay is very good as is, generally, the work environment.
Get in touch with Delta. Contact other airlines. Ask about programs they have to help you get into the aviation industry.
Ask your Atlantal Vet Association what info they have about this looming shortage and to inquire on your behalf.
Best wishes,

Hi Warren,
I just found a posting on INDEED. Search for Ingersoll-Rand position HVAC technician.
You may also try searching under the brand name Trane HVAC positions in or near Atlanta.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Best of luck.

Heating and air conditioning/HVAC/R. Air conditioning equipment mechanic is the name of the jobs I’m looking for
Hi Warren, thanks for asking this question! Have you taken a look at our Community page yet? Consider searching there for Advisors with a background in whichever sector you're considering breaking into, and message them to start a conversation about what's out there. It helps to narrow down your outreach: do you have a sense of the type of roles you want?
I wouldn't limit your search to Advisors either: Perhaps some other Veterans could provide insights too, based on their own experiences job-searching in the Atlanta area!
