Hello everyone. Does anyone know of any affordable resume writing companies? I would like another view of my current resume and also would like assistance on creating a federal resume. Im not sure which company to use due to possible scams. Any information would be helpful.

I am retired after a 40 year career in industry where I hired over 100 people. Now I am helping veterans like yourself by helping with their resumes. If you would e-mail me your resume in Word to (drjamesfwatson@gmail.com) I would be happy to comment on it.

Diana,
At one time, I assisted in resume building for the Missouri Employment service. I just throw that in there because there are many FREE resume building services connected to legitimate job search engines such as Careerbuilder and Monster. You can register with them for free and they will help you and offer resume templates for your use for free. As you can tell, I am a huge fan of free things. I will advise you to be actively involved in the development of your resume. The hiring managers will have it in front of them when they interview you. You don't want to be caught flatfooted when the hiring managers ask you a question from your resume points. And as a rule, have a few extra copies of your resume with you in case there are more than one manager across the table from you. And one for yourself as a reference and anticipation of the next question. Good Luck!
Diana,
If you message me your email address I can send you a corporate and federal resume template to work off of.
My company also provides free resume critiques to all military service members. You can submit your resume to us via email or by using our secure online submission form:

Great information. But the real question is what line of work you want to do and do you have to write 20 or more resume.
I am on the Advisory Committee that helps Veterans prepare their resumes and prepares for interviews. A free program, no cost to the Veteran. Also helps with job placements in much higher than entry level jobs. Check out their link below:

I teach employment workshops and conduct free résumé reviews. Message me your résumé along with the types of positions you are interested in. That way, I can ensure that you are on target for the types of skills and qualifications employers in that industry might be looking for. Also, if you are writing a federal résumé, that is a different product. Rodney Leonard, Veteran Representative from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), posted his workshop online to debunk a lot of myths surrounding the process (http://pbs.klrn.org/veterans/employment/index.aspx). There is a lot of valuable information there and I'd strongly encourage you to check it out.
There is some very good advice on resumes on this site -- see the articles. In addition to the above I will be happy to help review your resume. Please send a WORD document to info@212-careers.com
Hi Diana. I am happy to make comments on your resume if you are interested; I used to work for the govt. and am a professor who teaches our students how to improve their resumes. I have also done editing of resumes for 4-5 people on ACP. Please send it as a word document to sheilamc@berkeley.edu
