I just recently retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. I live in Fellbach, Germany a town right outside of Stuttgart. I am majoring in Business Administration and also in Foreign Language (German). I would like to learn to apply my military background, current and past education to the civilian sector in hopes of becoming more employable. I find myself lost in this transition and need help breaking the language, resume, and overall employment pitch to potential employers any help would be welcome

Hi Alvin - feel free to send your resume to me for review. I'm happy to take a look and see if there is anything that can be tweaked. Also, if you have a standard cover letter you send that would be helpful. Are you applying in Europe only or the U.S. as well?
Regards,
Mary

Hi Alvin,
Congtulations on your recent retirement and thank you for your service! What type of position are you looking to secure in the civilian world? It sounds like with your degree choice, you're looking to get into business, but specifically what kinds of positions are you looking at? I'd be happy to look at whatever resume you are currently using (or are finding yourself stuck on). My husband was born in Nuremburg, served in the Army for 13 years, and we both speak a little bit of German, so perhaps you and I can find some common ground to help you find your way in the transition from military to the civilian sector. Feel free to email me your resume: Stephanie.Arnold23@gmail.com
