Is there a place on the site to make a resume? or do I have to upload one? If I do have to upload one where can I do that?
Answers
There's not a place on this site itself to upload a resume now, but lots of folks would be happy to review one you have. Services like https://www.dropbox.com will help you upload a resume and you can post a link. Other services for uploading files or http://www.linkedin.com/ are good alternatives too.
I will be happy to help you. Send your resume in Word format to tomlinsonjk@aol.com

Terry, since you are currently attending university, I would recommend you visit the career services office there. Some colleges also have people who work specifically with veterans and understand their transition to civilian life. Either way, you can get resume advice and a resume review as well as other job search advice. Best to you!
Hi Terry,
Actually I am posting a website that I came across that is a resume engine builder specifically for veterans. This could be a good starting point for you by the US Chambers of Commerce Foundation. See below links to launch from. Typically, you can draft a resume from Word and upload the resume as an attachment into job boards like CareerBuilder or Monster or create your resume in LinkedIn.
Translate your military experience for employers, so they can translate it into success.

Best of luck and thank you for your service. Hoo-Ah.

Hi Terry,
Tyle is right, LinkedIn is a great place to start. But having your resume in Word format is the best place to start. As you use other sites, they allow you to upload your resume and the scan bot used for those sites automatically sorts through your resume. You will always have to modify once it is uploaded but it does save time. If you need assitance in reviewing your resume, I'd be happy to help. Collins.guinness@mayo.edu
