I've been unemployed since 4/30/13. It bothers me that older female veterans are not offered job opportunities. I have completed over 200 applications online (including USAJobs), completed five phone interviews, and had 10 job interviews. My resume speaks for itself. Most job interviews were with individuals much younger than I am and I believe there is a sense of intimidation during the interview process (they are intimidate, not me). I am now in college attempting to complete my second degree in Accounting. I have a BA in Counseling. I have even gone to company's who advertise "we hire VETS". Maybe they are referring to male veterans only.
If anyone can give me referrals in DC/VA/MD areas it will be greatly appreciated.

I am in Texas so no contact information but it certainly sounds like you are doing all the right things. Although age may seem, at times, to be a negative factor it can also work to your favor so hang in there the perfect opportunity will present itself.
