Due to COVID-19 my previous company reduced its force and I was a casualty of the reduction. I’ve been in my industry with the same/similar titles for the past 7 years. Now I am hoping to move into Business Analytics or Procurement.
What do you recommend to rebrand myself?

Hi John,
Check out https://www.onetonline.org/. It's a great, comprehensive career website run by the US Department of Labor.
Good luck!

Business Analytics jobs may include management analyst, data analyst/scientist, business intelligence analyst, program and marketing managers, big data analytics specialist, and operation research analysts. These types of business analytics are descriptive analytics, diagnostic analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics (Business Analytics). Additionally, specific tools associated with business analytics are micro strategy, SPSS, BIRT, Matomo, MetaBase, and OmniSci (Business Analytics). To adequately re-brand yourself I would recommend you create a e-portfolio showcasing projects that utilized your business analytics skills and expert usage of the tools associated with business analytics. Google, Wix.com, and Portfolium.com allows you to create free accounts. You can in the introduction tabs use this to rebrand yourself and introduce your evidence to support you have proven expert knowledge in business analytics. Also, if your degree is older than 10 years in the field I would suggest updating your degree or getting up to date certification where required.

You might try doing a personal marketing plan. I’ve done them myself and helped others do them. It’s a quick step back from the day-to-day to assess what you are really interested in doing, what your strengths are and how best to present yourself / market yourself for what comes next. It takes a little time and some honest introspective but it’s an investment in yourself and you might be surprised how helpful it can be to focus your energy on what’s most important to you going forward. Best of luck to you.
Hello John,
If I were you, I would start with my rêsumé, and see where it takes you. List your skills, history, accomplishments, then it's easier to focus on transferable skills. Then look at employment outlets, such as ACP.net for opportunities, or Indeed or Glassdoor, Linkedin, for example. Keywords are essential to get the attention you need. If you need help building a résumé, feel free to reach out to me and I will help. Good luck!
