@Raytheon Team,
I'm looking to transition into a more technical role or combine my operations/leadership skills with a more STEM focus. I earned my BS in Physics and my MBA. I've seen a posting for Principal Investigator that I think I'd excel at as well as enjoy.
How do I get my foot in the door when my resume hasn't exactly been in technical research but have have many of the skills needed to excel in the position? Any suggested routes I should take or most logical starting points?

Hello John, My BS was in Physics and Masters in Engineering, so we have a similar background. I would suggest looking at System Engineering role, which in todays world allows you to get into all aspects of Engineering life cycle. I found out that my physics background worked well in the "how to investigate a problem", but did not relate well to the core Engineering (ME and EE) as well as i had hoped. With you finishing your MBA, you may also look for a Deputy Program Management or you may look for a CAM (Cost Account Manager) which is a good mix of business and engineering. Best of luck in your search.
