As a new nonprofit startup, with no previous experience in fundraising on a large scale, we need direction on how to go about an online presence to solicit for funds. We've recently secured IRS 501(c)3 tax-exempt status, as well as, NC Charitable Solicitation approval. Now we want to put that into action in some sort of fund raising campaign.

Hi Mur,
I think it's important to make sure you diversify your fundraising strategy and ensure you aren't solely relying on online fundraising, as you'll want to have some reliable revenue that you can count on year after year, from streams like foundations, major donors, board members, staff, friends of board members, and then of course, individuals.
Network for Good has some easy-to-use online giving platforms which might be a good place for you to start. You can also look into text to give platforms and Facebook fundraisers, which are very easy for individuals to set up to enhance your online giving.
Good luck, and keep us posted!
Mur,
Jennifer has some great points. I happen to be connected as he was my Fires Officer in the Army in the 173rd. His name is Nick Black. See if he will connect with you on Linkedin, he's the CEO of GoodUnited and the website is www.goodunited.io I'm sure he has some great insight into the fundraising world.

It would help to know a bit more about your mission and what the organization hopes to accomplish in the next 1-2 years.
It's great to have the business structure set up, but you want to make sure you don't put the cart before the horse. Here are a few questions for you:
Do you have an advisory board set up yet?
Do you have any formal or informal alliances/partnerships with agencies or other organizations?
Have you completed a needs analysis, preferably with reliable statistics?
How's your website and formal communication process coming along?
Have you already investigated https://www.ncnonprofits.org/?
With a solid base first, your fundraising will be more successful. Best wishes!
