My education and experience is primarily in the National Security and Defense sectors. I do have a masters degree, however I do not have an MBA. While it may not be required, it seems like an MBA is highly desired. Are there opportunities at Deloitte within the security risk management field that do not necessarily require an MBA?

A very good answer by Andrea - an MBA is absolutely not required. It sounds like your degree and USAF experience are valuable - probably the most important thing for you to do is to make sure you have a comprehensive understanding of what security risk management consulting involves. Doing your homework and being able to explain how you can contribute to a risk management consulting team is essential - and our Deloitte team is happy to help with that.
Hi Mike,
I'm currently doing risk management for the Navy with Deloitte and do not have an MBA. Many people at Deloitte do have MBAs, but STEM candidates and others with diverse backgrounds are also highly desired. I have a Master of Public Policy degree and use what I've learned everyday on my job. I would not consider one academic career path necessary to be successful in doing risk management. Deloitte also offers a RIMS-CRMP certification for risk management practitioners, which is the risk equivalent of the PMP. Let me know if you have any additional questions. I'm happy to help.
Best,
Andrea
