I'm a marine stationed in San Diego. I'm an 0431 logistics embarker getting out in December 2020. I'm also going to Embry Riddle University to get a bachelors in supply and logistics chain management. I'm curious if there is any shadowing opportunities out here in San Diego in the area.

Hi Blake,
I hope you're having a great weekend! Thank you for your service and for posting on ACP AdvisorNet!
While I don't live in the San Diego area, I do have a few suggestions on how you might be able to get in touch with someone in the Logistics field for shadowing opportunities.
First - I'd recommend you reach out to fellow classmates and Alumni of Embry Riddle. I'm sure they may have someone in their network, or are themselves in the field, and would not be opposed to having you come by the office for a day to gain a hands-on understanding of the day to day work they do.
Second - Reach out to Advisors on our Community page. You're able to filter the criteria by experience, industry and location. Cast your net wide, and I'm sure you'll be able to line up a number of informational interviews!
Third - While it may be a little early for you to apply for ACP's formal one-on-one mentorship program, keep the program in mind once you're about 12-18 months out. The program is completely free and will connect you with a formal mentor in the field that you're hoping to break into.
I hope these suggestions were helpful, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I'd be happy to connect with you via e-mail, or phone, to discuss further!
Have a great rest of your weekend.
Best,
-Bernard.
