Hello, I am interested in learning more about being a commercial insurance broker/producer.
I searched internet resources and I have a beginners understanding of the business. I think the skill set I learned in the military and my job before the military as a financial analyst provide a great foundation to starting a career in this field. At this point I would appreciate recommendations from commercial insurance brokers/producers and their personal experience.
-Recommendations on books and resources
-Networking tips
Thanks and looking forward to the feedback.
Best,
Matthew Case

Hi Matthew: First off, thank you for your service. Aon is a sponsor of ACP and we may have a colleague in your area to get you connected through ACP. Interestingly, I find the commercial insurance world quite fascinating and have been in the for 25 years...from working for a few Claim Service Providers such as Travelers and Specialty Risk Services now Sedgwick CMS, to AIG and Zurich, but I found it most rewarding here at Aon (just celebrating 15 years). Check out http://Aon.com
We have extensive opportunities that you might find of interest.
In the meantime, a good resource of information to start with and subscribe to via internet is https://www.insurancejournal.com/
If you want to talk further, I can be available to further discuss your interests and perhaps get you some further direction in the industry. Thanks.
