Any suggestions for a panel interview for a fin-tech company?
Answers
Hi Kamran, in addition to doing your research on the company, see if you can obtain the names of the panel in advance. Research their background, position, responsibilities, causes etc. and see if you can somehow drop a relevant fact into your answers about the individual themselves. Just make sure it ties back to their question. Good Luck to you and thank you for your service. Best Regards, Mike
Hi Kamran, panel interviews are very similar to one-on-one interviews in that each interviewer has prepared questions and is seeking ways to see how you will fit his/her organization. Having said that, when an interviewer asks you a question respond to him/her and then make sure you are also making eye contact with the other interviewers. Best visual I can offer is imagine you are with a small group of friends and you are engaging each friend in the conversation. The interviewer is looking for clues as to how you engage others and respond to questions. As to answering the interviewers questions, be sure to use the S.T.A.R. model. ST= situation, describe the situation, A= actions you took to achieve a positive result, R= the result of the action that you took.
Good Luck!
Your request just made the email distribution, so sorry I didn't see it earlier.
Please share your experience either as a response or make a new post. These interviews are common and people would love to learn from your experience.
Kamran,
In addition to the comments made, have you checked them out on Glassdoor?
You may and should always ask who you will be interviewing with prior to the interview. In addition to an immediate supervisor, co-worker and liaison with another team or department it would depend on how your position interfaces with others, who may be on the panel. Knowing this is key in preparing your responses to address everyone's interest and your knowledge of the position.
With any interview, it's all about highlighting your skills and experience in a way that shows the interviewers that you have what they want and know the position.
Good luck,
