I heard about this in the news. Sounds to me like, at the very least, this could be a good stop-gap job to help pay bills and afford folks the time they need to find their career job (and maybe Wal-Mart can offer a career opportunity), or the time to go to school while suplimenting the income.
Brett, Retailing is a very complex arena. Any business that has storefront access for the public is in retailing. Add to this businesses that sell on-line or also have a storefront. When starting with any type of business, the place to start is in the backroom/basement where one learns how the business really runs. It is the best place, also, to learn about what the business sells in depth --more that being just a clerk which is what most in WalMart are.
Retailing, like the army, one has to ge through the ranks.
