Hello ACP AdvisorNet community! We are working with a veteran who is interested in learning more about the PMP certification. He is familiar with the program offered by the Syracuse IVMF, but are there any other programs that are cost effective for veterans?

Hi - As already suggested, checking with regional chapters of PMI would be good start.
PMP always stands good value, and in recent times, Agile Scrum knowledge and certification too has good value and scope of employment. There are many version of Agile Project/Program management like ScrumAliance, Scrum.Org to name couple of leaders. I would suggest checking prospects in that area too.
Greetings. Unless they changed the program the PMP training through Syracuse IVMF was free to veterans. If I recall there was an application process and once you pass their tests they would pay for the certification exam. Commendable program. I went through it myself a couple of years ago.
Look on the PMI site for a local chapter. That will be a group fo project managers most with PMP's and other certifications. They'll be able to advise you on local and distance learning from hands-on experience.
There are lots - too many actually - outlets for PMP certification. The local chapter will have "customer" advice for those.
Hi- there are numerous study programs for PMP certification. Your candidate could, in fact, order the book and self-study for the certification test if he chooses. Suggest he consider these options.
Check out any local colleges including technical colleges. Maybe check out state funding to compliment the GI bill as well.
