Previously I served 3 years on active duty in the Navy's Medical Service Corps as a Health Care Administrator. While stationed at what is now Walter Reed National Military Medical Center I led the admissions and discharge division. After serving a deployment to Afghanistan I transitioned to the reserves where I currently am an officer in charge of a medical detachment. In my civilian career I work for the Defense Health Agency to improve patient access to medical care.
