Who can help me secure investors for a city construction project?

Veteran

AUSTIN BUNTON Frisco , TX

I spent the last decade refining the design for a zero-pollution city and would now like to present the pitch deck to potential investment firms, secure equity, and begin construction.

Thanks for your military service Austin. Your write-up left me unclear as to what you propose to construct—a city, a subdivision, or buildings? Therefore a next step to consider is starting to develop a business plan for your ideas. The SCORE organization (www.score.org) offers a business plan template that includes many questions for you to consider such as:
* Specifically what is your business proposition?
* What is unique about your ideas? What advantages does your proposition offer versus competition?
* Why should a financier have confidence that you can deliver? What knowledge, skills, experiences, etc. make you stand out from other experts in this area? Have you worked with experts who can recommend you or your ideas?
* Who are likely to be the customers for your proposition? Why will those customers be attracted to what you offer versus competitive alternatives?
* What start-up capitalization and financing will you require?
* What will your longer term financial plan look like?

As the SCORE website emphasizes, "The real value of creating a business plan is not in having the finished product in hand; rather, the value lies in the process of researching and thinking about your business in a systematic way. The act of planning helps you to think things through thoroughly, study and research if you are not sure of the facts, and look at your ideas critically. It
takes time now, but avoids costly, perhaps disastrous, mistakes later.” I'm no financier but suspect that thinking through issues like these will increase your chances of success when you approach one.

Best wishes, Bill

Austin, there's no need for me to review your material since I'm not a financier nor do I have financial contacts. However, I encourage you again to ensure that your "pitch" leads off with a credible story why an investment firm should spend time talking with you.
Best wishes, Bill

Mr. Nobles, thank you for your reply, and you are most welcome (regarding my service). -- I propose to construct a zero-pollution resort city. The design has many subdivisions and thousands of signature buildings. I will take a look at www.score.org and ensure that I have answered all of those questions and addressed all of those points in my business plan. At present, I have nearly a full pitch deck (business plan, executive summary, projections, presentation, et cetera). If you'd like, I can elaborate on this city building project.
