Bank of America has multiple Leadership Development Programs. They have a Financial Center Operations Manager LDP, a Junior Military Officer LDP, and a MBA LDP. All of these have a desired outcome to place you into a management role. I personally know a military veteran currently in each of these three programs.

Bank of America recruits, develops and retains veterans, reservists and military spouses because of the unique skills and experiences they bring to our organization. Since 2011, Bank of America has hired more than 4,000 veterans, Guard and Reserve members thanks to a dedicated team focused on military recruiting, and partnerships with organizations like the Network of Champions, the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, PeopleScout, the Bush Institute and the Joining Forces Initiative. With this enhanced focus, the bank will maintain this pace and hire 10,000 over the next several years. To meet our hiring goals, we have established a dedicated team of recruiters who partner with organizations to identify and secure top talent.

We support military employees through our Military Support & Assistance Group (MSAG), an employee network that creates opportunities for advancement and leadership development through networking, mentoring and information forums.

Additionally, Bank of America supports the U.S. military through the Military Affairs Team, an internal team that focuses on reintegrating service members into the civilian workforce through education, employment, wellness and housing.

Bank of America's military recruiting efforts are regularly recognized on a national level as a top "Military Friendly" employer by GI Jobs, Military Edge and Employer Support for Guard and Reserve.

Join the thousands of veterans who now call Bank of America their Employer of Choice.

Sean,

As you can see by the answers, lots of companies have programs for the military. I've been with Travelers for 20 years and it is a very military friendly company. See the attached link through the Travelers website.

Hello Sean,

Deloitte has a CORE (Career Opportunity Redefinition & Exploration) Leadership Program for veterans. The program is conducted by Deloitte University in Westlake, TX. You can learn more about the program requirements by using this link:

http://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/about-deloitte/articles/join-deloitte-core-leadership-program.html

or searching for the CORE Leadership Program online. I learned of this program while at a veteran's seminar held by the PA CareerLink.

Thank you,

Michael

Also try defense companies like Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, Northrup-Grumman. They hire lots of veterans.

USAA has an excellent Junior Military Officer program. It would be a step-down in the beginning, but that is the case almost anywhere when transitioning from the military. They do look at individuals other than Officers even though it has Junior Officer in the title.

Not sure of your background, but most of the "Leadership" programs at large companies that flow into management look for MBAs. If you are working towards an MBA or have an advanced degree I would apply to them. Almost every F500 company has a program and Veteran hires are important due to getting us on the cheap.

Second the Goldman Sachs Veteran Internship, most people end up with an offer. It is really a 3 month training/interview to help Vets get up to speed with on-the-job training. It is for all roles, not just finance.

Look into working for the Dept. of Homeland Security, particularly Immigration, as I work there and have those same opportunities you're talking about. In fact, we are always hiring and having this particular job offers great benefits. Some of them are 4 day work weeks, work-at-home, and of course all the federal holidays. Something to consider.

Sean,

I believe Dr. Pepper Snapple group hires a few senior ranking veterans each year to join their Leader Development Program. There are two tracks, one for distribution and the other for the product manufacturing. The intent is for you to work your way up to GM of a facility over time. Good luck.

Hi Sean,

API Group (Construction Company) out of Minnesota has a Veteran specific leadership development program that grooms transitioning veterans to be business unit leaders. They have several different trades/specialties with subordinate businesses, and locations across the country.

Sean: best of luck in the year to come.

In which field(s) are you looking?

Are you looking for programs which guarantee management after training (at some level) or just programs designed to integrate and train veterans?

Here are a few that I have heard good things about:

> Goldman Sachs - http://www.goldmansachs.com/careers/experienced-professionals/veterans-integration-program/

> Oracle - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/operation-forward-march-next-step-talent-david-goltz?forceNoSplash=true (this is one example program, but I can point you toward other stuff if you are interested)

> Deloitte - http://www2.deloitte.com/us/en/pages/careers/articles/join-deloitte-military-veterans.html

> GE - http://www.ge.com/careers/culture/us-veterans

> Canon Solutions America - https://csa.canon.com/online/portal/csa/csa/company/careers/!ut/p/a1/jY5dC4IwGIV_jbfuXZat7gZBy_V1oaS7EY01BXUyV0K_vtVdUNS5O4fngYMESpHoilutClvrrmieXYQ5wzvCKIcIIjIByhcsPGKOCQsckDlgQ1YUsylwMk8ccIiTPY4phvXsPx--hMIvP0JCNbp8Xc1oVwZEIWHkRRpp_Ktxc2VtPyw98GAcR19prRrpn3XrwSel0oNF6TuJ-jZJ71t5egDvg8oR/dl5/d5/L2dBISEvZ0FBIS9nQSEh/ (they have a program, it's not listed here, but they can discuss it through the POCs shown)
