After separating from the Military. I joined the civilian ranks as a contractor. I excelled, becoming one of the top ranked individuals for 2 companies. Now that I'm pursuing a career within the states, it seems my wages and responsibilities are what has kept me from employment. I've heard several times over that my resume is impressive and even told I interview well. The employers (8 to date) claim they are afraid that I will leave the company to pursue more money being that I have a pretty lucrative wage overseas.
Any advice on what companies will consider my experience only?

Andrew,
There is fantastic book called, 60 Seconds and You're Hired by Robin Ryan. This source provides answers to over 100 questions asked by employers. It does address your issue; explaining why you would accept a lower salary. Get the book and answer every question as is pertains to you. You will be completely prepared and be able to convince your future employer that you know what you want, can repeat what you have done for others, you understand his/her needs and you can do the job for them.
I cannot tell you how many times I've recommended this book.
Good Luck,
Carolyn
Andrew, would you mind sharing a copy of your resume with me. Perhaps, we can add some language in the Executive Summary portion to broadcast/clarify your expectations and commitment level. This language can also be part of your Cover Letter also, but I am not sure of its effectiveness there. What specifically makes them think that you are not committed long term? I am assuming you are applying to jobs that you hope to establish a career in.
Good luck, and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards, Ravi
