About Rafael

My name is Rafael Martinez. I served in the United States Navy from 1980-1983 with the USS Forrestal (CV59) and did two deployment cycles, from workups through post deployment stand down and accompanied her to her first SLEP at the Philadelphia Navy yards where I was honorably discharged in 1983.

I am a graduate of Lee University (class of 1991) and started out as an assembly line worker in the Maytag Corporation's Cleveland (TN) cooking plant in 1991 after graduation. What was to be only a temporary job turned into a career that continued under the auspices of the Whirlpool Corporation from 2006 onward when Maytag became one of its brands. I became a customer service representative with Maytag in 2003 and since then have acquired significant amount of experience through the Maytag and then Whirlpool customer service and trade partner environments. I currently work as a Trade Customer Service specialist in an in-home agent position.

I have also been in the Christian ministry since 1983 and a licensed minister with the Church of God (Cleveland) since 1992, having served in a bivocational setting during all of these years, supporting myself as I continued in the ministry..
