Greetings all,
Glad to join the community! I am currently a senior undergrad at a university in california, my degree is in Business Administration with a focus in Management. I have a strong interest in finance and financial planning/consulting; As I get ready to graduate I want to start taking classes for certificates relating to wealth management positions held at banks like Wells Fargo and Chase. What would be good certifications to take to best compliment the type of position I am pursuing?

Martin, to be in the financial planning industry there are several licenses, certifications and registrations you can obtain. In Michigan, for example, you would need to complete a "pre-licensing" education course prior to being eligible for sitting (taking) the insurance licensing exam. The American College also offers the CLU and ChFC program https://www.theamericancollege.edu/ The completion of the course work and exams will well prepare you for working with the higher net worth and business owner clientele. There is also the CFP program https://www.cfp.net/ Colleges and Universities may offer courses along these lines, most don't. On the investment side of things FINRA offers various registration exams. You must be "sponsored" or '"associated" with a FINRA member firm in order to take one or more of the exams http://www.finra.org/ There are several companies that offer test prep material, local and on-line classes for this. You can search for these on the web. I hope this helps you get started in the right direction. Feel free to contact me if you care to discuss this further and best wishes to you. The financial services industry can offer you a great career while significantly helping others along the way.
